![]() This Sunday, Pastor Terry along with key leadership will share a very special time of “Vision Casting” for our church! Pastor Terry will address the church concerning financial matters, building upgrades, outreach, and being a transformational church in deed not just conversation. We will share with the church regarding our current Heat and Air conditioning project! Plus we will share with you a proposal for future vision. At the end of this service the church will be called into a conference to consider a proposal by our key leadership as we look for ways to advance our effectiveness as a local church and be good stewards of our church grounds. It’s time to honor our past, as we boldly follow God into our future! Having a Right Spirit (Attitude)
As leaders we are forever “working together” with other believers. In the many situations we face together we must remember that having a “right spirit” is vital to unity. Consider this: "A right idea or opinion given in a wrong spirit or attitude is a very dangerous thing". "A wrong idea or opinion given in a right spirit or attitude is a blessed thing" What's the difference? The first is cursed from the start because of the attitude of the heart. The second is blessed because attitude (spirit) is of upmost importance to God. “By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain….” Hebrews 11:4 Cain's mental attitude was a key factor in displeasing God! The perfect situation? A right idea or opinion presented with a right Spirit. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10 Most leaders feel the pressure to produce! But in that pressure we must be careful to produce according to divine prompting. Do we produce like Peter who was impulsive, impatient, and prideful? How about Phillip who was rational, strategic and a realist giving little place for faith? Our greatest concern as a leader should always be to align ourselves with His will (made known through prayer), His timing, and His oversight. This will not always please the masses, but trust me it will always bring God sized results!
Last Sunday was another great day at Arrowhead Church. Even with the threat of bad weather, we had good attendance and a powerful worship experience.
I appreciate all of our Sunday School teachers and the great effort you put forth in preparing your lessons each week. You are making a life journey impact on those in your class whether they are young or older. It may not feel like it as you chip away week after week in an effort to carve out disciples, but with each lesson as with each chip of the sculptures' hammer, an image is being formed. I believe you are contributing to the image of Christ being formed in your students. I was so blessed at the end of our service Sunday, to be met by one of our Children's Ministry team, Lana Maddox. Lane was overjoyed with her class as they had studied about the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus into Jerusalem. They had made palm branches and crowns to us while the class celebrated Jesus our King! Way to go Lana! Our worship in song lead by our Praise Team, was once again much anointed as the Holy Spirit dwelt in the Praises of His People! Bro. Jess' sermon on "Cave Dwellers and Cave Experiences," touched many hearts. You may visit our church web broadcast to view his sermon here at the following link: Arrowhead Church Morning Sermon: February 19th. The Youth sponsored Movie Night on Sunday Evening was a great success! Even though light snow was falling, we had almost 60 people in attendance! It was a great time of fellowship and being challenged by the movie, "Courageous!" This is a movie I would encourage every family to watch together and especially every man to watch! Thank you for responding to our appeal concerning being faithful in your tithing and giving! This is a very important part of our spiritual walk in the Lord. This coming Saturday, our church will host a regional Children's Workshop lead by our State Children's Minister, Kim Batson. We have four of our Children's Church staff planning to attend along with approximately 25 others from area churches. This is exciting! To all Arrowhead Children's Ministry Team: There will be a meeting for our Children's Ministry Team this Sunday February 26th at 3:30pm in the Preteen Children's Church Classroom. Please make plans to be there! Pastor Terry will be speaking in the morning service this coming Sunday and then we will gather for Regional Camp Meeting on Sunday evening along with our area churches and our State Bishop, E.C. McKinley. The evening service starts at 5pm so make plans to be with us! Have a great weekend!
